Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how billing, cancellation and refunds work for a chatacus subscription. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Billing

chatacus subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, starting on the date of your first payment. Your assistant is provisioned and made available to embed on your site as soon as payment succeeds and your onboarding details have been processed — usually within a few minutes.

2. 14-day money-back guarantee

If you’re not happy with your assistant within the first 14 days of your first payment, let us know at marc@chatacus.co and we’ll refund that payment in full and cancel your subscription — no need to give a reason. This guarantee applies once per business, to the first payment only.

3. Cancelling after the first 14 days

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing portal, or by emailing marc@chatacus.co. Cancellation stops future billing but doesn’t refund the payment for your current billing period — your assistant stays live until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and is then deactivated. We don’t offer partial-month refunds for early cancellation outside the 14-day guarantee above.

4. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry it a few times over the following days. If it continues to fail, your assistant is temporarily suspended (visitors will see a brief “currently unavailable” message instead of a response) until payment succeeds, at which point it’s reactivated automatically. We don’t delete your assistant’s configuration during a short payment gap — update your card details via your billing portal to resume it.

5. Our right to suspend or refund

We may suspend the Service and/or offer a refund at our discretion if we’re unable to deliver it as described — for example, a provisioning failure that we can’t resolve within a reasonable time.
